Lately he's gone home and the radiator's burnin and the room is steamy
and lately he's been readin books and answerin the phone all dreamy
and lately he's been lookin at signs and wonderin if he should go there

go to the meeting and find the friend who will travel to the coast with you and back again
go to the concert and decide that you are part of the people, the music, the show, the knowing
—the knowing

Your child is a lucky child he holds the key to learning
but your child doesn't come in when recess is done and all the other children are returning
and your child must discontinue this autonomous behavior so he'll finish his homework

cause I am the teacher and I want to teach him that society won't hold his seat for him
late to the platform costs him forty-five percent of his earnings, his savings, his share, his fare mind
—his fair mind

If you want you can carry full term and we can answer any questions
but you might rather control the evolution and have this painless period ended
and if you desire you can cut your own vein and you won't have to pray for counsel

cause yours is the owning of a genius or a blossom which may bring the world around again
and yours is the combing of the tangle of the meals and the anger, the crying, the need, the pleading
—the pleading

go to the meeting and find the friend who will travel to the coast with you and back again
go to the concert and decide that you are part of the people, the music, the show, the knowing
